Looking for a hidden escape to unwind in Bonifacio Global City? Apartment 1B x Elias BGC Taproom is a great spot if you’re in the mood for gourmet comfort food and craft beverages. This relaxed taproom offers a cozy space designed for easy evenings and casual conversations over local craft beer, ciders, mead, cocktails, and other hard drinks at an affordable price.
As a craft beer enthusiast, I’ve been a big fan of Elias Wicked Ales and Spirits ever since they launched their first branch in Quezon City in 2018. I always look out for their beers during craft beer community festivals and order Elias beers online for gifts and for drinking at home.
In case you didd’t know, this award-winning local brewery has two other taprooms in Madison Galeries in Alabang and in BGC, Taguig, to cater to residents and office workers based in the south and the main lifestyle district in the metro.
To celebrate the first anniversary of their Taguig branch, Apartment 1B x Elias BGC held a curated beer and food pairing experience for select guests and media. Here’s all you need to know about Apartment 1B x Elias BGC Taproom.

About Apartment 1B and Elias Taproom BGC
Raoul Masangcay, Founder and Head Brewer of the award-winning Elias Wicked Ales & Spirits, shared that the Elias brand has always been about “pushing boundaries while staying true to the craft.”
“This collaboration allows us to introduce more people not just to locally crafted beer, but to a wider range of beverages, from ciders and mead to cocktails and other hard options, in a setting that feels approachable and easy to enjoy. We’re excited to keep growing the community around what we do,” said Masangcay.
More than just a taproom, Apartment 1B and Elias BGC offer a whole culinary experience. Apartment 1B founded in 2006 by Chef Marivic Diaz-Lim first opened its doors in Salcedo Village, brings its signature gourmet comfort food to a cozy, homey atmosphere in BGC, paired with beer. Apartment 1B has multiple locations, including branches in Arya Residences in BGC and The Henry Manila.
Chef Nikko Roa, Corporate Executive Chef of Apartment 1B, likened the beer and food pairing experience to wine pairings, giving guests a “familiar yet elevated” experience.
“Working alongside Elias gave us the opportunity to rethink how flavors interact—how a dish can enhance a drink and vice versa. It’s also been especially rewarding to see guests rediscover Apartment 1B classics in a new setting, paired with craft beverages that bring out different dimensions of each dish. This first year has been an exciting journey of creativity, and we’re thrilled to keep evolving for our guests,” said Roa.
Suggested food and beer pairings
For the “Creator’s Table: A Beer & Food Pairing Experience,” there were two sets of dishes to pick from paired with a beer flight.

Food and craft beer tasting notes
I based my choice on the beers I wanted to try, so I picked Set One, because it had Hop Boi IPA. The Spinach and Cream Cheese Samosa, with its flaky filo with spinach, mushrooms, and cheese was nicely complemented by the refreshingly sweet and slightly tart Verry Berry Seltzer. For those who prefer something less bitter, this seltzer is a great afternoon or summer drink to beat the heat.
Next was Chili Cheese Sticks, a popular bar chow, made with deep-fried chili peppers stuffed with cheese, paired with Tartar Sauce. The well-balanced malt and hop character of Lost in Japan White Ale toned down the spicy, savory, and crunchy rolls. Lost in Japan White Ale is also good paired with Japanese dishes.
The third dish was Fried Chicken Sliders with Coleslaw paired with Hop Boi IPA, my personal favorite. The chicken patty inside the slider was perfectly crunchy and great with the clean and hoppy finish of the West Coast style IPA. If I had to order a whole mug, I’d go for the Hop Boi IPA.
Last was Angus Beef Meatballs with Blue Cheese paired with Darker Vader Stout. If you want something bursting with flavor and meat-heavy, the meatballs are a good pick. The sharp and bold flavor of blue cheese and rich beef flavor was balanced by the fruity notes and malt richness of the stout. The smooth, classic dark beer feels like a proper wind-down for the meal and also works as a dessert beer.
Hoppy Hour promos, live music & event space
While drinking and dining, we got to enjoy musical performances. Weekly DJ nights are held on Thursdays, while live acoustic sessions are held on Fridays, adding a laid-back vibe to match the experience.
Apartment 1B x Elias Taproom also offers a daily “Hoppy Hour” from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, with a complimentary beer upgrade on craft beers & ciders on tap, making it a good stop for after-work drinks. Open from Mondays to Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 12:00 MN, the bar offers a consistent evening space for winding down or meeting up.

Verdict
Whether you’re in the mood to unwind with a post-work drink, catch up with friends over a casual dinner, or enjoy a quiet night out in BGC on a mid-week break, Apartment 1B x Elias Taproom is a great option. It’s ideal mainly for local residents and those who work in BGC, and international tourists staying in Taguig or Makati looking for a unique local experience.
While the taproom is still young, having turned one year this April 2026, it’s steadily built a following drawn to its relaxed yet elevated atmosphere.
With the rise of remote work, breweries and bars can be good work spots for digital nomads during the day. If you’re looking for a comfortable spot for a change of scenery outside the usual work environment or your house, this is a possible option.
Personally, if I had to kill time or do remote work in BGC between lunch and dinner events or meetings in the area, I’d consider going here over the usual coffee shops or structured co-working spaces and enjoy their Happy Hour drinks.
Congrats to Apartment 1B and Wicked Elias BGC on their first anniversary! Be sure to check out this taproom the next time you’re in BGC.
