Do you miss traveling around the Philippines? Have you started a small business during this quarantine period and are looking for a way to increase your product’s visibility online? Or maybe you just have some free time on your hands and are looking for a way to earn some extra cash for your impulse cravings. If you answered yes to any of the above, you might want to check out the website Pinned.ph, a new digital lifestyle publication that highlights the best of the Philippines, while giving a much-needed boost to local destinations, businesses, and freelancers.

About Pinned

Pinned is a local startup magazine that was launched just last December 2019. The site was established by a few Filipinos who wished to showcase Philippine gems across various industries to encourage more tourists and consumers to support local destinations and endeavors.

For those who love to travel and eat out or work in industries related to travel, tourism, fitness, and events, the past few months have been a huge blow. Most of us have been forced to put our travel plans on hold and stay home to keep safe. But now that lockdowns are starting to ease up, more people are looking for safe and accessible destinations as well as new food adventures to enjoy at home, which the site regularly features.

Highlights Philippine destinations

While many online magazines showcase international destinations, the future of travel will really need to focus on domestic destinations. Pinned aims to shine the spotlight on the Philippines’ renowned and underrated destinations. This includes highlighting hotels, restaurants, fitness hubs, events venues, natural attractions, and many others, to local tourists and consumers.

They cover all locations in the Philippines – not just Metro Manila, undert the main categories of travel, food, fitness, events, and more, with lifestyle-centered topics that hope to inspire, engage, and drive people. The site features relevant leisure recommendations that can help readers appreciate and rediscover unknown places in the country that deserve attention.

Supports local businesses

Pinned also serves as a platform for businesses, both small and established, to get featured. Apart from regularly featuring established business establishments in articles, the site has also made a commitment to help small home-based and online businesses thrive amid the COVID-19 by featuring them for free. Interested parties simply need to fill out the Google form here with their details, and they will take care of the rest.

Increasing your business’s visibility outside Facebook platforms and Viber groups can help bring in new clients and customers and help establish your brand to a wider audience.

Helps freelancers

Part of Pinned’s commitment is to serve as a venue for aspiring writers to showcase their work, allowing them to earn while writing about things that they love about the Philippines.

Pinned works as a platform for local freelancers, including writers and photographers, to write about what they love (travel, food, fitness, and events) and get exposure for their work while earning competitive fees for their articles. While some websites think “exposure” is enough payment, Pinned values their contributors, and pays fairly for approved travel articles and photo submissions.

Since January 2020, I’ve been contributing travel articles and photos to the site and I can say that they provide high-quality content based on different author’s first-hand experiences for travel and food. Pinned can help give readers inspiration and ideas on where to travel while spreading positivity with topics like food, fitness, and online events.

Pinned covers a variety of topics, including:

Post-Quarantine Updates

Pinned is also a great resource for travel and restaurant guidelines in the Post-Quarantine setting. The PH NOW section is dedicated COVID-19 updates and features for small businesses in all four categories. You can find directories of restaurants that offer food delivery per major geographic area, new guidelines for travelers and airline updates.
