Experience Marinduque by bike: Cycling tours open for March to May 2026

Is biking around Marinduque on your bucket list this 2026? Bike tours are now available for those looking for a hassle-free way to tour the island province on two wheels, with initial tour dates set for March, April and May 2026.

The Marinduque Cycling Experience, the first-ever bike tour under the Philippine Cyclo Tourism program, officially kicked off last February 21-22, 2026. The grand launch highlighted the island province in the MIMAROPA region as a must-visit destination for cycling and eco-tourism, showcasing the province’s scenic routes, sightseeing spots, and unique culture.

This first of several planned organized bike tours around the Philippines is jointly organized in partnership by the Department of Tourism (DOT) MIMAROPA, Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), the National Bicycle Organization, local tour operator Dream Favor Travel and Tours, and bike distributor Maru Bicycles Philippines.

Thanks to an invitation from TPB, I had the opportunity to cover the kick-off event attended by cycling personalities, including Philippine Loopers, bike brand ambassadors, content creators, media, and local cyclists.

The bike sightseeing tour involved pedaling to Luzon Datum, the geodetic center point for all maps and surveys made in the Philippines. It also included doing the Marinduque Loop by bike, visiting key landmarks like Poctoy White Beach, mountain decks, hot springs, and churches, among others.

I’ll be sharing my firsthand cycling experience in another post, but here are the basics on the bike tours in Marinduque for those who want to explore someplace new this summer 2026.

Who is this bike tour ideal for?

The 3-day, 2-night bike/sightseeing tours are ideal for local and foreign cyclists who want a hassle-free way to bike around Marinduque. The tour is for bikers who want to go sightseeing and experience the unique culture and history of Marinduque on two wheels. It’s not a race.

Since the tour includes use of quality mountain bikes and guides, these are best for tourists who can’t bring their own bicycles to the island and would like the services of a support vehicle for easier transport of luggage.

Based on the various routes and length of the ride, the bike tours are suitable for cyclists with intermediate to advanced biking skills. Cyclists must be comfortable riding medium to long distances (60-100km) with mountainous terrain involving 500 meters of elevation gain, with an average speed of 12-15kph.

What are the inclusions of the bike tour?

All bike tours come with hotel accommodations, van transport service, the use of a tour bike and helmet, bike guide, consumable meals, breakfast, lunch, dinner, photographs, accident insurance, snacks, and bottled water.

Partner hotels include Balar Hotel & Spa, Marina and Adi’s.

What bike will be used for the tour?

Maru Kaze, a Japan-designed and Taiwan-made mountain bike, is the official Tour Bike of Marinduque and is included for use throughout the tour.  International and local tourists can enjoy going on bike tours without having to worry about bringing their own bike to the island. The Kaze bike has a 16″ frame and 29″ tires. Check out the bike specs below. Bigger frame sizes for 6-foot-tall tourists are also available.
