Filipino culture combined with rich brewing traditions shines in a new limited-edition beer can available in the Philippines.
In honor of its 135th year, San Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) released a limited-edition can that honors Filipino history and heritage.

The “Balik Tanaw” can captures the days of old with artwork by Francis Nacion, one of the country’s most renowned contemporary Filipino visual artists. The artist is best known for his stylized forms and distinct half-rendered visage which show both dark and bright sides. Since 2009, the artist has held multiple solo exhibits that showcase Filipino culture.

This collectible item reflects how San Miguel has become part of the Filipino way of life. The local imagery, inspired by traditional values and cultural significance, connects history and national pride, making this can of interest to beer drinkers who also appreciate Filipino culture and art.
This new special San Miguel Pale Pilsen “Balik Tanaw” beer can is available to collect, enjoy, or to share for a limited time only.

Since its establishment in 1890, San Miguel Brewery has been part of celebrations for many generations of Filipino families. San Miguel Pale Pilsen is considered the country’s most iconic, and is the most widely available, of the country’s mainstream beer brands.
International tourists and beer can collectors, in particular, might want to look out for this if they’ll be traveling to the Philippines this year.
For its 130th anniversary, San Miguel Brewery also released limited-edition beer cans featuring artwork by Filipino komikeros Larry Alcala and Rob Cham.
