Whenever I travel internationally, I always make it a point to try the most popular beer brands in their home countries. And when I travel to different cities and provinces around the Philippines, I try to hunt down the homegrown craft beer spots and microbreweries.
When it comes to the country’s commercial beers, brews from San Miguel Brewery (SMB) are the most widely available across the Philippines.
In case you’re looking for something refreshing and new to try, you might want to look out for San Miguel Mango Yuzu. This Limited Edition beer “brings together a wheat beer crafted with the tropical taste of mango and the citrusy zest of yuzu for a smooth, uplifting sip.”
Yuzu is a small, round citrus fruit native to Japan and some parts of East Asia. Yuzu drinks are popular in Japan, and commonly used as a flavor in soda, tea and cocktails, to name a few.
According to SMB, the beer uses natural flavors and real fruit juice in Belgian-style wheat beer, for a “vibrant and refreshing drink with the right amount of buzz.” The refreshing beer has a 5% alcohol by volume, offering a balanced beer and easy-to-drink brew that can be enjoyed during any occasion.
San Miguel Mango Yuzu will be available for a limited time only in select bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and convenience stores, so grab them while you can!
