Siglo Brew: Craft beer and local coffee in Tagaytay

There’s a cool new spot to enjoy craft beer and local coffee in Tagaytay!

Siglo Brew is a relatively new dining destination, having opened on June 12, 2021. It’s conveniently located right across Tagaytay Picnic Grove, a popular sightseeing spot. For those who want to eat full meals, you can head to Siglo Modern Filipino restaurant along the road. But you can also just head on to the back, located inside View Park Hotel for coffee, craft beer, local pastries, and beer chow.

While Siglo Brew is very accessible along the Tagaytay-Calamba Highway, it feels like a hidden gem for coffee or beer on dates or with family and friends compared to the usual well-known Tagaytay spots. There’s an indoor dining space and a secluded al fresco seating area with a view of trees by the poolside.

Siglo Brew prides itself on serving Philippine craft beer, coffee, bar snacks, and pastries made only from locally sourced ingredients. For the coffee selections, they serve serve single-origin coffee sourced from different areas in the country like Liberica from Lipa City, Batangas and Robusta from Mendez, Cavite.

Their coffee menu includes Espresso, Americano, Pour Over, Pinoy Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino, Salted Choco Caramel Macchiato, and Hot Choco Tableya all reasonably priced from P95 to P145 each. Unique pastries on the menu include Keso Garlic Bun, Tableya Bar, Lemon-mansi Bar, Ube Flan Cheesecake and Chocnut Cheesecake, to name a few.

But of course, I went here specifically for the craft beer. At the time of our visit, they had five craft beer varieties on tap that you can order by the mug, namely:

  • Aalapaap (5.8%) – P250
  • Wheat Beer (5.6%) – P190
  • Taal IPA (7.8%) – P250
  • Barako Stout (6.5%) – P190
  • Dragon Fruit (6%) – P250

For those who want a variety, the Beer Flight, priced at P450, includes smaller servings of 4 beer flavors and Adobo Nuts on the side. Most of the beers on tap are from Pierre’s Cellar while the Dragonfruit Beer is from the Antipolo-based Santiago Brewery.

It’s always great to enjoy beers fresh on tap and the cooler weather of Tagaytay just adds to the experience. If you want some local bar chow to pair with your beer, options include Sisig Nachos, Pinoy Wings, Pica Pica Platter, and Sari-Sari Skewers.

Siglo Brew is a great spot for coffee and craft beer enthusiasts visiting Tagaytay. It’s also a good option for riders and cyclists on coffee rides around lunch time (they currently open at 11 am). Since Picnic Grove is a popular spot for sightseeing and photo ops, so you can just park right across the street for coffee and meals afterwards.

If you’re staying overnight in Tagaytay, you can stop by for beer in the afternoons or evenings. Beer flight servings give you variety, but aren’t too heavy, so it’s still safe to drive if you’re having just one or two drinks.

We easily found parking here right in front of the restaurant on a Friday evening. If you’re bringing bicycles, you could probably bring them up to the poolside or park near the hotel to keep them secure while you enjoy your drinks.

Siglo Brew is located at 3500 Calamba Road, Sungay West, Tagaytay (right across Picnic Grove and beside Development Academy of the Philippines).

Starting March 2, 2022, Siglo Brew will be open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM. You can contact them at 09175446396 or siglobrew@gmail.com.
