Affordable Michelin Restaurants to try in Quezon City

The Philippines was recently named one of “the best places to travel in 2026 for food lovers” by the Michelin Guide. According to the prestigious guide, Filipino food is “finally claiming its global moment,” after the inaugural Michelin Guide for Manila & Environs and Cebu 2026 was released.

While majority of the high-end Michelin awardees in Metro Manila (including the elusive starred restaurants) are located in Makati and Taguig, the guide recognized seven restaurants in Quezon City. This includes three Bib Gourmand restaurants (Morning Sun Eatery, Palm Grill and Some Thai) that offer “exceptional cuisine at attractive prices.”

Exploring MiraNila Heritage House & Library in Quezon City

Hidden along a quiet residential street in Cubao is a stately Filipino mansion that has opened its doors to the public as a living museum and boutique events space. The MiraNila Heritage House and Library in Cubao is a heritage house originally built in 1929 in the California Revival Style, with lovely gardens and preserved interiors.

Art in Island: The Media Square museum in Quezon City

NOTE: Updated April 2023

Typical museums in the country only appeal to history buffs and art enthusiasts. Visitors are expected to just look at artwork hanging on walls or stare at artifacts behind glass cases, learn historical facts, and that’s it. In most museums, photography isn’t even allowed, leaving visitors with no visual proof of their visit.

Street Art Guide in and near Maginhawa

Maginhawa Street in Quezon City is popularly known as an “Eat Street” because of the number of restaurants in the area. Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of new street art and murals around the neighborhood made by local artists who live in the area. Some serve as decorative elements adorning gates or walls outside food parks, restos, or other business establishments.
