I like to do self-imposed quests and collect certain items when I travel. One of the personal challenges or sidequests I’ve been trying to complete is to visit all the destinations featured on the back of our Philippine currency. The current set of banknotes issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines features Philippine landmarks and tourist destinations, which are considered the most valuable treasures of our nation. As of November 2017, I’ve collected photos of the landmarks in five out of the six possible locations.
GOAL: Take photos of Philippine banknotes at the landmarks featured on the bill STATUS: 5/6 collected
The island province of Bohol is one of the most popular and tourist-friendly destinations in the Philippines. This small island is packed with beautiful white beaches, stunning landscape filled with exotic animals and different fun adventures and activities. I’ve been to Bohol several times for family vacations, work and personal trips. As a solo traveler, I enjoyed motorcycling around Bohol to visit the various sites last year.
Bohol is an island province in the Central Visayas region in the Philippines. Home to unique natural attractions and wildlife, beautiful diving locations, beaches and resorts, it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Though direct flights are available from Manila, it’s very easy to get to Bohol by fastcraft from Cebu, which it is separated from by a narrow strait.
