We first discovered La View Mountain Resort in January 2022. After trying to ride to Jariel’s Peak one weekend by motorcycles, we were forced to turn back because checkpoints and border restrictions going to Infanta, Quezon were still being enforced.
During the pandemic, we made a few lifestyle changes for our health and the environment. We’ve been biking more regularly for exercise. We’ve cut out pork from our diet and are trying to adopt a more vegetarian / pescatarian lifestyle these days. We’ve also been frequenting more eco-stores and refilling centers in the neighborhood to get supplies and making sure our plastics are recycled properly.

People celebrate it in honor of San Isidro Labrador, the farmer’s patron saint.

During our last trip to Tagaytay in March 2023 to do the Taal Lake Bike Loop, we stayed a couple of nights at View Park Hotel, an elegant yet affordable boutique hotel.

Last December before Christmas, we spent almost a week in Sagada just to enjoy the cooler weather. This lovely town in the Mountain Province is probably the closest place you can get to experiencing winter in the Philippines. At any rate, it’s always a respite from the summer heat. The cooler temperatures in the months of November to February dip to lows of 15°, though the average temperature all year around is 18°, which is amazing considering the 40° heat index we’re currently experiencing in Manila.
